Artificial Fluorite

Fluoric acid is used for cleaning in the high-tech industry in Taiwan; as a result, calcium fluoride sludge is produced in their wastewater treatment systems. CHC recycles it and then uses it to make fluxes which are utilized in the steelmaking processes. The reutilization of waste reduces the exploitation of natural resources.

Aluminum Oxide processimg

The reutilization of aluminum slag after the second smelting is a tough issue to deal with in Taiwan. CHC has established an aluminum slag processing production line to smelt the recycled aluminum and manufacture aluminum ingots; in addition, aluminum slag can be made into hot metal desulfurization blending agents, which effectively solves the problem of reusing aluminum slag.

In the future, R&D on the applications of aluminum slag will be carried out to add more value to this product, which will make the best use of this resource for its sustainability.

Application of Mineral Fine Aggregate in Raw Meal

The solids produced by the desulfurization process of China Steel Group in its integrated steelmaking operations are called De-Sulfurized slag. Through dry crushing, screening, magnetic separation, wet ball milling, and dehydrating operations, the magnetized and non-magnetized materials are separated. The non-magnetized materials are de-watered to produce mineral fine aggregate (limestone fines). The main component is CaO (approximately 45%-55%), which can replace limestone as a raw meal for cement production and reduce the mining of natural resources. After completing material analysis and product testing since 2013, CHC Resources began supplying mineral fines to domestic cement plants in 2016 as a substitute for cement raw meals and has provided a total of 530,000 tons by the end of 2021. We assist cement plants in achieving the goals of limestone reduction, carbon emissions reduction, and cost-saving. We once again achieved Level 4 Optimizing for business model maturity of the BS 8001 circular economy standards in 2022, re-creating a successful solution for the application of steel and iron production by-products in the cement industry.
